Export

Riff lets you export your generated solos in two formats. Export is a Pro feature.

PDF Export

Export your solo as a formatted PDF tab sheet. The PDF includes:

  • Full guitar tablature notation
  • Chord symbols above the staff
  • Solo metadata (key, genre, scale, tuning)

The PDF is ready to print or share. Use it for offline practice or to hand out at rehearsals.

How to Export PDF

  1. Generate a solo
  2. Click the Export button below the solo results
  3. Select PDF (Tab Sheet)
  4. The PDF downloads automatically

MIDI Export

Export your solo as a standard MIDI file (.mid). MIDI files contain note data (pitch, timing, duration) without audio — they're meant to be loaded into other software.

Use Cases for MIDI

  • Import into a DAW (GarageBand, Logic, Ableton, FL Studio, Reaper) to add real guitar amp simulation, effects, and mixing
  • Arrange with other instruments — layer the solo over drums, bass, and rhythm guitar
  • Edit note-by-note in a piano roll editor for fine-tuning
  • Change the instrument — play the solo with any MIDI instrument (synth, piano, strings)

How to Export MIDI

  1. Generate a solo
  2. Click the Export button below the solo results
  3. Select MIDI File
  4. The .mid file downloads automatically

Requirements

Both export formats require a Pro subscription. Free plan users can view solos on the fretboard and in tab notation but cannot export.
